BanquetsAll of our banquets will be held at the beautiful riverside Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, also ‘home’ to most Parade week activities. We plan to incorporate some good ‘ole southern food, hospitality and traditions to this year’s banquets. There will also be two ‘free’ nights where you can experience some of historic Savannah’s wonderful and quaint restaurants and nightlife, all just a free ferry ride away, across the river.
After a few years’ hiatus, the Welcome Party will be a German buffet, with all of the usual favorites—Joghurt Salatsauce Mit Greens; Warm German Potato Salad; German Tomato Salad; Schnitzel Holstein; Grilled Bratwurst and Sauerkraut; Sauerbraten; Kaes-Spaetzle; Parsley Butter Potatoes; Red Cabbage with Apricots and Balsamic Vinegar; Hot German Green Beans Tossed with Warm Bacon Vinaigrette; Pretzel Rolls ; Black Forest Cake or Apple Strudel for dessert. The Concours Banquet will be our most ‘formal’ banquet, with a menu to reflect that—Mixed Green Salad; Dual Entrée of Bacon Wrapped Sirloin & Savannah Crabcake with Cajun Remoulade Sauce; Fresh Mashed Potatoes; Creamed Spinach; Rolls; Dessert is either Chocolate Suicide Cake or Seasonal Berries with Grand Marnier Crème Anglaise.
We have something different and fun planned for the Rally Banquet—a Casino Night, with ‘dine around’ food stations of heavy hors d’oeuvres—Carved Steamship Round of Beef; Southern Grits Bar; Mini Baked Potato Bar; a display of eight different hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and also a dessert display. The pricing includes the food AND the gaming, so brush up on your Blackjack, Poker and dice skills. There will even be a gaming corner for the kids!
The Autocross Banquet will be a fun one, too—a “Low Country Boil” dinner, a Southern favorite and tradition. It will be served ‘family style’ and includes—Mixed Green Salad; Potato Salad; Dixie Slaw; Tomato-Cucumber Salad; Low Country Boil of Potatoes, Corn, Kielbasa and Shrimp Served with Lemons, Butter and Cocktail Sauce; Fresh Seasonal Vegetable; Rolls; and for dessert, either Banana Berry Cake or Peach Cobbler.
The Victory Banquet will be the culmination of our Parade week, where we will reflect on our past week together, as well as hear about our next opportunity to all get together, at Parade 2012! The menu—Caesar Salad; Chicken Valois (Grilled Frenched Breast of Chicken with Swiss Cheese, served with a Light Sherry Sauce); Wild Rice; Green Beans and Carrots; Rolls; White Chocolate Mountain Cake or Key Lime Pie for dessert.
There will be Vegetarian entrees available for the plated meals; the Concours, Autocross and Victory Banquets. Order these, and list any special dietary requests, when you complete your meal request order, under the “Banquets” tab portion of the on-line registration form.
